Cuddle Magic is an avant-pop band located between Brooklyn and Philadelphia. The bands latest LP, Ashes/Axis (out now on Northern Spy), sees Cuddle Magic dive into the pop side of chamber pop with more fluency and confidence than theyve ever shown in the past (Pitchfork). It is warm and precise, raw yet sophisticateda set of infectious pop songs from either an alternate reality or a paradoxically familiar near-future.

Comprised of Benjamin Lazar Davis, Christopher McDonald, Dave Flaherty, Alec Spiegelman, Kristin Slipp and Cole Kamen-Greenall six musicians are in-demand collaborators in New Yorks musical community and work with a wide array of artists, from pop superstars like Beyoncé to critically lauded independent musicians like Will Sheff (Okkervil River) and David Longstreth (Dirty Projectors), as well as with respected figures of the avant-garde like Fred Frith and Ran Blake.

This December, before a two week run of shows from Philly to DC to Brooklyn, Cuddle Magic will head back into the studio to record their 5th full length album--and this time their studio is a bathroom in Long Island. The as-yet-untitled forthcoming new album will be entirely acoustic, and will be released in 2019 on Northern Spy.
